A Note from Leadership:
Riga Democrats need to have choices on the ballot. It’s frustrating to see a unilateral path for Town Board decisions in Riga.
Recent election results were a clear indicator of public opinion about the direction voters want our country to go. I think Riga has a perfect opportunity to bring the blue wave here for the next election and finally have candidates on the ballot that give us a choice.
The current Committee is “seasoned” & has seen a lot of the local politics. But the members recognize that Riga needs younger citizens involved to recharge our efforts. I am hoping you will work with the Committee in making change happen here.
Please give some thought about how we can engage voters & facilitate political change in Riga.

Yes! Friends are welcome, whether or not they're registered Democrats yet.
What do you discuss at meetings?
We discuss local issues, candidate endorsements, upcoming elections, community events, and ways to get involved. All are welcome to share ideas.
Do I have to attend in person?
No. Virtual attendance via Google Meet is always available. Just email us for the link.
How can I help?
We need volunteers for campaigns, voter outreach, event planning, and more. Email rigademocrats@gmail.com with "Volunteer" in the subject line.
Can I make a donation?
Yes! Donations help us fund campaigns and stay connected with Riga voters. Contribute.

Riga Democrats Local Endorsements for 2026
THE WINNERS:
Harry Bronson — New York State Assembly, District 25. Strong advocate for education, small business support, and community infrastructure.
Joe Morelle — U.S. Congressman, District 25. Fights for healthcare access, good jobs, and voting rights.
Kathy Hochul — New York Governor. Leading on clean energy, affordable housing, and public safety.
A MISS:
Michael Mills — Monroe County Legislator for district 54. Committed to fiscal responsibility and protecting our local environment. Michael impressed our endorsement committee and we sadly report while he ran a first rate campaign, the mostly rural District 54 covering parts of Livingston, Monroe, Ontario and Wayne counties voted by two to one in all but Monroe County for his challenger. Keep an eye out. We hope this isn't the last we've hear of Michael Mills.

Our Meeting Locations
Monthly Meetings
We meet the first Tuesday of each month at 7 PM. Next scheduled meeting is Thursday, November 10th.
Location:
Spring & Summer: In person at Churchville Park (N. Main Street at Park Rd, Churchville, NY). Rain location: breezeway between the East & West Lodges. Google Meet option is usually available.
Fall & Winter: Virtual via Google Meet
