RIGA DEMOCRATIC COMMITTEE
A Better Choice for Riga NY
Support Stan Main for Town Council '19
bonnie@rigademocrats.org    538-2951

On Sunday, June 3rd the Riga Committee is having a Meet & Greet for all the candidates in the June 26th Primary Election for the seat of Louise Slaughter.  We are doing this as a combined effort with the Democratic Committees from Gates, Chili, and Sweden.  Judicial Candidates will also be present for you to meet.  We will be at the American Legion, Harvey C. Noone, Post #945 at 6440 Buffalo Road, right next to the Riga Town Hall.  It starts at 2:00pm.  It is free and light refreshments will be served.

There will be no June meeting due to the Meet & Greet.  Out July 5th meeting is in Churchville Park near the East & West Lodges.  It is also a picnic which starts at 6:00pm.  Bring a dish to pass, your place setting, and your meat to grill.  We will provide a beverage.  At this meeting we will organize for the Meet Your Neighbor Day at the Congregational Church on 19th in the afternoon.  More details will follow.

At our May 3rd meeting we had Fatimat Reid, Judicial Candidate, present and also Joan Seamans, NY Senate Candidate present to introduce themselves.
.
Save the date of Thursday, September 27th for our annual dinner at Mill Creek Golf Course.  We will have a Chicken French and Beef Lasagna buffet and Silent Auction for $35.

It turns out we do have one local election this year, for Town Justice.  If you are a lawyer, or have some law enforcement experience, you might consider running!

Your ideas for any of our events are always welcome. This school year we meet the 1st Thursday of the month.    All meetings are at 7:00pm (except the April meeting).  Please plan to come - any registered Democrat is welcome.  Meetings are free.

Our new officers are:  Bonnie Loser - Chairman and Leader; John Loser - Treasurer; and Bill Shirtz - Secretary.

We are always looking for more members to join the Riga Democratic Committee.  It is a good way to do your civic duty and meet folks, and potentially start your political career!

We represent the registered Democrats of Riga - over 800 of us. Our job is to provide the best local candidates for office and to help them get elected. By having a choice when you vote, we help keep local politics clean, honest, open, and diversified.

Any registered Democrat living or owning property in Riga is welcome!

We need your help and your ideas!  It's free! It's fun!  Just do what you can!

Thank you for supporting our dinner and silent auction in September last year.  The food was wonderful.  It was a magical evening!
